バイヤーが送り込んだ無人偵察機が空中からアーロン・クロスを狙うが、アーロンは森にいる狼に発信機を取り付け危機を逃れる。一方で、洗脳されたフォイト博士が研究室にいた同僚たちを次々に射殺。その後フォイト博士は自決し、マルタ・シアリング博士(レイチェル・ワイズ)だけが生き残る。 アーロンは、必要な薬を得るために、生き残ったマルタ博士と共に行動を共にする。

Byer deploys a UAV (drone) to eliminate Number Three and Cross. Cross hears the drone's approach and leaves moments before a missile destroys the cabin with Number Three inside. When the drone returns, he tapes a thermal blanket and metal bowl to his thigh, masking the signal from a tracking device beacon implanted in his thigh.

アウトカム作戦のメンバー、アーロン・クロス（ジェレミー・レナー）は、アラスカの極寒の地で過酷なトレーニングを行っていた。その一方で、暗殺者養成プログラムのトレッドストーンとブラックブライアーが世間に明るみになる。

トレッドストーンの調査によりアウトカム作戦について知られるのを防ぐために、元空軍大佐エリック・バイヤー（エドワード・ノートン）はアウトカム作戦をシャットダウンし、そのエージェントを殺そうとする。

英語ＤＥ英語、今週は『ボーン・レガシー』。マット・デイモンのボーン３部作の４作目だ。しかし本作の主演はジェレミー・レナー。マット・デイモンが降板してジェレミー・レナーに変わったんじゃなくて、まったく別のお話になっている。番外編とも言うべき作品か。

しかしこのジェレミー・レナーのボーン・レガシー。なかなかをもって面白い。マット・デイモンのボーンシリーズはどれも同じように感じたけど、本作はジェレミー･レナーの良い味が出ていると思う。アクションもいい。共演のレイチェル・ワイズもいい。レイチェル・ワイズは年を重ねてよりいい感じになってるなあ。

さて、ではそんなボーン･レガシーを今週は観て行こう。

ヴァンプーライズは店頭から姿を消したが、ニックとティムはすかさず新しい商品を開発。その名はポケットフラン。チューブになったフランだ。車を運転しながらでもこぼすことなくフランを食べられるというもの。ニックとティムはテレビコマーシャルで颯爽と新開発のポケットフランを紹介。歓喜の客席にはジェイマンもいる。ニックとティムは新たな人生を歩み出すのであった。

The veterinarian informs the pair that she is obliged to inform the Environmental Protection Agency, and Vapoorize is immediately pulled from the market.

Nick and Tim almost lose all their wealth and glory-until Tim comes up with an invention of his own: Pocket Flan, inspired by Nick and his family's love for the dessert. J-Man is shown in the audience of Tim and Nick's infomercial for Pocket Flan, apparently reconciled.

ティムは最終的に、成功したニックに嫉妬していたこと、ニックの愛馬コーキーを殺してしまったことをニックに明かす。それでもニックはそんなティムを責めることなく、２人はパートナーを続けることになった。

しかし、ティムが矢で殺したと思い込んでいたコーキーは、実はニックの発明品であるヴァンプーライズの作用が原因していたことが発覚。ヴァンプーライズは店頭から姿を消し、２人は財産をすべて失うはめになってしまう。

Tim eventually confesses all to Nick who forgives him for his jealousy and agrees to continue with the partnership; however at a press conference for Debbie's electoral campaign (where she promises to withdraw her candidacy if it is proven Vapoorize is harmful to the environment in any way),

ニックが発明した犬の糞を蒸発させるスプレーがローマでデビューを飾ることに。ニックはなんとティムを儲け半々のパートナーにすると言い出した。ローマでのデビューは大成功。ティムも一躍大金持ちとなり妻のデビーも大喜び。

そんな噂を聞いた流れ者のジェイマン。ティムは、ニックの愛馬コーキーを殺したことをばらされたくなければ５万ドルを払えとジェイマンから脅迫されるはめになってしまう。

Nick reveals to Tim that he is going to Rome for the debut of Vapoorize there, and gives Tim the opportunity to join him in a 50:50 partnership, which he accepts.

親友ニックの発明に相乗りしなかったせいで金持ちになるチャンスを逃したティムは、会社を首になっただけでなく、愛妻デビー（レイチェル・ワイズ）に愛想をつかされ家族と離れ離れになるはめに。落ち込んだティムは、とあるバーで奇妙な流れ者ジェイマン（クリストファー・ウォーケン）と出会い、彼のアドバイスに耳を傾け行動を共にすることになるが・・・。

After Tim's wife Debbie (Rachel Weisz) and children temporarily leave and he is fired from 3M, Tim's jealousy reaches new levels. In a bar he meets J-Man (Christopher Walken), a bizarre drifter, who lends a sympathetic ear and offers advice.

新しく独立して単体で運営することになった英語ＤＥ英語、これからもよろしくお願いします。 その映画ＤＥ英語、改変後初めてとなる映画は、"envy"　邦題は『隣のリッチマン』。ブルース・ウィリスの『隣のヒットマン』と間違えて観てしまったという・・・。

知らずにそのまま観始めて、なかなかブルース・ウィリスが出てこずに、ベン・スティラーとジャック・ブラックが出てきておかしいなあと感じていたら、ヒットマンではなくリッチマンであった。もちろん、リッチマンの方が後に公開されて、ヒットマンのタイトルを捩ったであろうことは偽りのない事実？

When Jessup fails to appear for the trial, the bondsman comes looking for him and tells Ree that she will have about a week before the house and land are seized. Ree tells him that Jessup must be dead, because "Dollys don't run." He tells her that she will need to provide proof that her father is dead in order to avoid the bond being forfeited.

Ree tries to go to see Milton again and is severely beaten by his women. Teardrop shows up and rescues Ree, promising her attackers that she will not say anything or cause any more trouble. Teardrop tells Ree that her father was killed because he was going to inform on other meth cookers, but he does not know who killed him; he warns her that if she ever finds out who did that she must not tell him because he would kill that person.

PLOT

Seventeen-year-old Ree Dolly (Jennifer Lawrence) looks after her mentally ill mother, her twelve-year-old brother Sonny and her six-year-old sister Ashlee. Every day, Ree makes sure her siblings eat, while teaching them basic survival skills like hunting and cooking.

The family is very poor. Ree's father, Jessup, has not been home for a long time and his whereabouts are unknown. He is out on bail following an arrest for manufacturing methamphetamine.

The sheriff tells Ree that if her father does not show up for his court date, they will lose the house because it was put up as part of his bond.

今週の映画ＤＥ英語はジェニファー・ローレンスがアカデミー主演女優賞ノミネートを受けた作品『ウィンターズ・ボーン』。すごく評論家の評価は高かったみただけど、自分としてはあまり入ってこなかった。日本人にはあまりピンとこない内容かも。

幼い兄弟を持つリー（ジェニファー・ローレンス）は、失踪した父が原因で家や土地を没収されそうになる。家族を守ろうと必死で父を探すリー。リーは、父親が闇社会に足を踏み込んでいたことを知りながらも、家族を守るために危険を冒して父親探しを続ける。といったお話だ。ウィンターズ・ボーンの"ボーン"は、"born（生まれる）"ではなく、"bone（骨）"。直訳すると『冬の骨』となるけど、物語はそんな雰囲気漂うものだ。今週はそんなウィンターズ・ボーンをお送りしよう。
