監督はペドロ・アルモドバル。バンデラスを重用していてバンデラス主演の映画が多い。映画が好きな人なら『アタメ 私を縛って！』なんて映画タイトルに記憶があるんじゃないだろうか。実際、自分も同監督の映画をまともに観たのは本作『私が、～』が初めてで、後から監督作品リストを観て『アタメ～』や『神経衰弱ぎりぎりの女たち』などタイトルだけ知っていた映画がアルモドバル監督作品だったことを改めて知った。
『オール・アバウト・マイ・マザー』でアカデミー外国語映画賞を、そして『トーク・トゥ・ハー』でアカデミー脚本賞を受賞、この２作品でスペインを代表する映画監督の一人となったとのことだ。ペドロ・アルモドバルは同性愛者としても有名だという。子供の頃には性的虐待を受けていたことも。そうした環境から、映画全体を通して虐待や同性愛をテーマにした内容のものが多い。やはり複雑な人生環境があったがゆえのアルモドバル映画と言えるようだ。
本作『私が、～』でペドロ・アルモドバルに興味を持ったので、過去作品を５～６本観てみることにした。男優ではバンデラスの起用が多いけど、女優ではカルメン・マウラが多い。また、ペネロペ・クルスも多く起用されている。『私が、～』で整形手術を受けているかのような美女は、エレナ・アナヤだ。なんとも可愛らしくて美しい人だ。バンデラスにクルスにアナヤ、アルモドバル映画は奇妙でセンセーショナルなものが多いけど、ビジュアル面はなんとも一般に馴染みやすい。ストーリーの展開もテンポよくわかりやすいし、この辺りが彼の映画が世界で受け入れられる所以でもあるのかな。自分は好きだな。
では、そんなエロティックかつセンセーショナル(かなり)な本作、今週はペドロ・アルモドバル監督作品 "The Skin I live in"『私が、生きる肌』を観ていこう。

The Skin I Live In (Spanish: La piel que habito) is a 2011 Spanish psychological thriller film written and directed by Pedro Almodóvar, starring Antonio Banderas, Elena Anaya, Marisa Paredes, Jan Cornet, and Roberto Álamo. The Skin I Live In is based on Thierry Jonquet's novel Mygale, first published in French and then in English under the title Tarantula.
The film premiered in May 2011 in competition at the 64th Cannes Film Festival, and won Best Film Not in the English Language at the 65th British Academy Film Awards. Almodóvar has described the film as "a horror story without screams or frights". The film was the first collaboration in 21 years between Almodóvar and Banderas
